Ryan McCarthy completed an outstanding athletic career at Shrewsbury High where he was a starter in 3 varsity sports (soccer, basketball and baseball) and went on to Framingham State University where he was a 4-year starter for the Rams’ baseball team.

At FSU he played multiple positions (catcher, outfield, DH and 1st base) and compiled a .300 career batting average. In 2008 he led the Rams with a .460 batting average and served as co-captain his senior season.

Ryan also served as a manager for 3 years in the Shrewsbury Babe Ruth program winning one league championship in that time. He was also named as an All Star coach all 3 of those years. Currently residing in Framingham, Ryan is completing his degree requirements at Framingham State University with an eye towards teaching and coaching in the future. He also is a certified basketball official and works games at the high school and AAU levels.
